Marek Meduna studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague from 1999 to 2005.
His oeuvre spans various media, including painting, sculpture, installation, and video art. It oscillates between figuration and abstraction, sometimes combining both. His approach challenges traditional categorizations, creating compositions that balance structure and spontaneity. By juxtaposing precise, calculated shapes with fluid, organic elements, Meduna explores the tensions between order and chaos, logic and emotion.
Beyond his individual practice, Meduna was a member of the art collective Rafani (a four member art group often commenting on political issues founded in 2000) and has contributed as a curator and organizer of various exhibitions and art events. Currently, he leads the Painting Studio IV at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
