The title of the mobile refers to the 12th trump card in a tarot card set. This card shows 'The Hanged Man', usually hung on one of his angles, looking at the world upside-down. The work was part of four other pieces by the artist referring to tarot cards and were shown together in the exhibition 'Inevitable Leap'. The card is often understood in such a way that personal ambitions and efforts should take a back seat, while the Devine and transcendental or simply the course of things take control. Looking at the world from a different perspective and to experience a metaphysical dimension, is certainly an important quality of good art.
