In 1988 Mladen Stilinović presented at the PM Gallery in Zagreb a large group of works from 1984 to 1988 of mostly small-scale works dealing with works of art from the Russian avant-garde, the abstraction of the 1950s and socialist realism. The exhibition 'Exploitation of the Dead' understood itself as a 'debate' about the role of language and ideology, which was also based on the premise that the works from this past period, for Mladen Stilinović, could no longer mediate any content at all.
The small panel painting 'Geometrija', produced a few years later, takes up this theme again and conveys an almost nostalgic atmosphere in its simple beauty and balance.
