Pravdoliub Ivanov works with parting and dividing objects (which sometimes consist of only one word) and words, so that often only a sub-segment of the object is visible. Mostly it is precisely by keeping things out, that what is missing gets more visible. This also applies to the horizontally split word half-truth, which can be seen in the Winterfeldtstrasse in Berlin. The human mind automatically completes the incomplete picture to an entire word. It captures the meaning of the word directly and visually. This tautological approach: 'You see what it is, and it is what you see', corresponds to a conceptual understanding of art, which has become a central artistic practice since the late 1960s, next to the Pop-Art conception of contemporary art.
