Mars Walk is based on a found object that is used for gymnastic in womens sport. The balance beam is covered with red dust, reminding at the surface of the Red Planet, Mars. The bare footprints of the artists are visible. He must have walked balancing over the narrow path. There is a reference to the early exhibitions 'Spirit and Opportunity' 2004 at Kölnischer Kunstverein, where Roman Ondak set up a full Mars landscape. Beside this autobiographic relation, the work might also play with the recent public debate about the footprint of humankind on Planet Earth.
