'Raise the Roof' was a performance in 2007 on a rooftop of a building located near the former border of East and West Berlin. Women left their traces on metal plates with their stiletto shoes, while dancing to songs their listened to on their headphones. The performance 'Raise the Roof' was restaged for the 57. Venice Biennial in 2017. 'Stiletto, Ince Ince' was performed in 2012 by the artist Nevin Aladağ herself, enjoying the freedom of dancing to a song by Turkish Pop singer Selda Bağcan. In many cultures, living and experiencing such freedom is restricted, especially for women. The minimalistic imprints on the metal plates are a powerful signature of such liberty.
