Everyone believed in that light - friends, neighbours, artists...The terracotta paint covering up the accidental bullet hole hid the fact that guns had been fired. And not just those two works. Every corner of the HOME had become art, had become part of the homeowners LIVES. The HOME was a living being... What will the new homeowners do with it all? Will the HOME die? The HOME worries about itself immensely."

The HOME breaths easier: He will take care of him if sHe goes."

And then everything remains as is: the sunlight on the wall, the terracotta paint covering up the accidental gunshot – all the artworks in the HOME will be preserved... they will both leave the HOME, but the HOME will continue to serve them in a different role... The HOME ist intrigued by this new life."

In der vierteiligen Serie 'The Home' skizziert die ukrainische Künstlerin Alevtina Kakhidze verschiedene Szenarien, was im Falle einer Trennung vom Lebenspartner*in mit dem gemeinsamen Haus passieren kann. Neben den Zeichnungen steht jeweils ein Text. Das Werk ist durchaus auch autobiographisch zu lesen.
