Levan Chelidze is a painter who creates an intimate relationship with his friends and acquaintances by portraying them in his pictures. Painting becomes a medium of communication between the artist and his fellow human beings and between the viewer and those portrayed, which can dispense with language.
In addition, painting becomes a tool for the artist to sketch his surroundings and, above all, the psychological and emotional attitude of his own generation.
Levan Chelidze not only portrays his friends. He creates pictorial worlds that provide a multifaceted view of the young generation of Georgia, often torn between the free democratic forces and the backward-looking, anti-democratic tendencies.
