About Nino Kvrivishvili

The Georgian artist Nino Kvrivishvili studied from 2001 to 2007 textile design at the Tbilisi State Art Academy. Since then she has had the opportunity to develop her artistic interests more precisely in an international context at various residencies in Europe, Lithuania, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

Nino Kvrivishvili reveils the stories and histories hidden and embodied in found objects and common materials. She creates scenarios in which the material and objects turn into storytellers. Narrations are indicated which look into the past from the present and develop perspectives for the future. The history of her country, Georgia, always plays an important role. It is not told from a political perspective or historiography, but unfolds in suggested memories of private life.
