Paulus Liepa draws inspiration from the modernist graphic culture of the 20th century, particularly the aesthetics of the 1960s and 1970s, and employs graphic techniques such as collography and cardboard cuts. He often subjects his pieces to environmental influences, creating textures that evoke a sense of timelessness and rediscovery.
He has studied at the Graphic Art Department of the Art Academy of Latvia and works there as a lecturer since 2016.
Liepa's contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the Statutory Award at the International Print Triennial in Krakow (2012) and the Grand Prix at the 9th Biennial of Graphics of the Baltic Sea Countries in Kaliningrad (2008).
