Albena has been dealing with artificial intelligence and its impact
on society for over 10 years. The exhibition Flag at the Toplocentrala
in Sofia shows a newly created film installation that refers to the
consequences of the race of technology companies in connection with AI. Rocking on tires, the audience can view a large-format projection
projection. In a simulated seascape, a yellow lifebuoy with a white flag
can be seen. The flag is covered with a QR code generated by generative
imaging models. These programs are already able to create very credible
images. However, as they do not know what a QR code is, the code
remains useless and leads nowhere.
Flags are emblems of countries or
institutions. The white flag is also hoisted by someone who gives up.
The flag, as a symbol between conquest and abandonment in troubled
waters.
