The FREI LUFT GALERIE Fürth is an annual open-air art exhibition that transforms the city's public spaces into an expansive outdoor gallery. Since its debut in 2021, artists have presented new works each summer at various locations throughout the city, making art accessible to everyone while reimagining the way people experience the urban environment.

Some of the artworks remain in public space permanently after the exhibition has ended, contributing to the city's cultural landscape and enriching it for years to come.

Among the participating artists is Albena Baeva, presenting augmented reality sculptures from her 'Power Flower' series.

Positioned opposite the Centaur Fountain by the German artist Rudolf Maison at Bahnhofsplatz, 'Wasps' by Albena Baeva challenges Maison's celebration of the idea of human superiority over the forces of nature.

'Wasps' is part of a series in which Albena Baeva reclaims terms that have traditionally been used to demean, belittle, or insult women. In this body of work, she reworks and combines 3D models of animals and women found online, transforming these sexist labels by giving them new strength and meaning.
