Flaka Haliti often transforms formerly military-used materials in her installations –such as windows from a former hangar of the NATO peacekeeping mission KFOR –into poetic, light-filled sculptures and expansive spatial objects.
In the Lehmbruck Museum's large glass hall, an impressive spatial ensemble emerges, one that plays with transparency, light, and materiality. The works address central themes such as borders, freedom, belonging, and the consequences of war, displacement, and migration – while simultaneously opening up a space for hope, change, and reflection.
