As a response to the many crises, wars, and the growing loss of trust in democracies, Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg presents the group exhibition Utopia – Right to Hope. The participating artists address alternative social models, ways of thinking, and forms of living in their works.
Among them is Jasmina Cibic with her three-channel installation The Gift from 2021. In this piece, she explores how art and architecture have historically been deployed as diplomatic gifts to convey power, ideology, and cultural values. Her work raises questions about the interweaving of aesthetics and politics, as well as the invisible conditions of cultural representation.
