Ciprian Muresan awarded the Daniel and Florence Guerlain Contemporary Art Foundation Drawing Price

Three artists were nominated for the Daniel and Florence Guerlain Contemporary Art Foundation Drawing Price 2017: Charles Avery, Ciprian Muresan und Daniel Trenet. Ciprian Muresan, born 1977 in Dej, Romania, was awarded with this years price, endowed with 15.000 Euro.

The Price was founded in 2007 by the Florence and Daniel Guerlain Contemporary Art Foundation and is granted to artists using graphics as their main vehicle of expression. Each year three artists are nominated for the the prize. Since 2010 the award ceremony is held at the Salon du Dessin in Paris. The winner receives an award of 15.000 Euro, the two nominated artists receive an award of 5.000 Euro.

In addition, a work by the winner is donated by the Foundation to the Musée National d´Art Moderne-Centre Pompidou.

Since it was launched the price was awarded to: Silvia Bächli, Sandra Vásquez de la Horra, Catharina Van Eetvelde, Marcel Van Eeden, Jorinde Voigt, Susan Hefuna, Tomasz Kowalski, Jockum Nordström und Cameron Jamie.
