The National Gallery in Sofia presents, at Kvadrat 500, a comprehensive body of work by Luchezar Boyadjiew under the title ‘ON VACATION… CORPUS EQUORUM’.
In 2003, the artist ‘removed’ the figure of Alexander II from the monumental equestrian statue in the center of Sofia. Since then, this series has evolved into a radical reflection on the significance and role of such monuments.
