Until June 2019 the 'Ruhr Ding: Territories' presents 22 art projects in the cities of Bochum, Dortmund, Essen and Oberhausen. The exhibition examines the cultural, historical and administrative structure of the Ruhr region as a ‘city of cities’ while considering the accompanying implications of globalisation such as migration, post-colonial conditions, neo-colonial assertions of possession, efforts to achieve autonomy as well as the growing shift towards the nation state.
