Nil Yalter is an artist of Turkish origin, who engages herself for the rights of marginalized groups. Her works deal with sociocultural topics and often focus on the living and working conditions of women.
Born in Egypt, she moved to Istanbul at the age of four, where she lived until she moved to Paris in 1965. Between 1956 and 1958 she traveled to Iran, Pakistan and India as a pantomime artist.
Her work, which includes all artistic media from drawing, photography, video to performance, has been presented internationally in solo exhibitions at the Musée d´Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, at Arter-Space for Contemporary Art in Istanbul and at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne .
