Curated by Magda Radu, Mihaela Tilincă, Dana Sarmeș, Monica Dănilă, and Simona Constantin, each addressing an essential dimension of the artist’s practice, 'Dan Perjovschi. Romania – A Retrospective 1985–2025' brings together drawings, performances, civic actions, protests, publications, and ephemeral installations, composing a fresco of Romania over the last 40 years.
"My career has been a roller coaster ride through biennials, protests, newspapers, museums, and independent spaces. My drawings are visual editorials, preserving something of the Revolution. Black and white, like the free press of the early 1990s. My practice is like water: I infiltrate everywhere, I don’t make hierarchies—the largest museum in the world and the smallest artist-run space are equally important. I have freedom and therefore all the responsibility," says Dan Perjovschi.
